Hello again!
The start to the year was a little slow. With my 3 kids at home (no school to go to), I found myself switching between home schooling and trying to get a start on my literacy work. As you probably know, literacy 'work' never really ends. We are surrounded by experiences that require literacy skills - such as this writing this post - and if our skills aren't sharp in that particular area, the sense of incompetence or even defeat sets in pretty quickly. This year I would really like to share thoughts on literacy and have readers share them with me. We are now back to our routine with school in session and the literacy office open and I look forward to working on new initiatives and dusting off old favourites (such as Story Time). At Literacy Quesnel, we make it our business to reach out to all sectors of the community. We want to help enhance literacy skills and increase awareness. If you have ideas of who we might work with or what activities we might offer to increase the level of understanding and accessibility to information, please contact us. Our phone number is 778.414.9119 and our email address is [email protected].
Till next time, happy learning!
Rebecca
