Recently we read about the Icelandic tradition of Jolobokaflod, or the "Christmas Book Flood" that happens in Iceland. Every year, people in Iceland give books to friends and loved ones on December 24, then spend most of the night reading! We thought we would put a local spin on this tradition and open our office to make it possible for our locals to come and get a book to read over the Christmas break. A very generous reader just gave us 100 or more novels in beautiful condition...a wide range of genres and authors, so we would like to share these with the community.
On Tuesday December 22 from 5 - 7pm and on Wednesday December 23 from 6 - 8pm we will open the office so you can come and select a book to keep and read over Christmas.
Join us for tea or coffee and come and get a book! Our office is room 206 at 488 McLean Street - main floor of the Child Development Centre.
